Tommy Chu
Youth Breakin Level 1
Thu   5:30 pm   to 6:25 pm

Tommy took his first steps dancing at family parties and school hallways at a young age. Initially, he was inspired by the dance moves from Missy Elliot music videos and many Hip Hop events his older sister brought him to. By 2005, he was called out during lunchtime by future fellow crew member, Joey Kaotyk, in the back of Thornton Junior High's locker room. The battle was continued after school in another future crew member's garage and everyone who witnessed began B-boying as well. With the guidance of Power Serge, Kool Raul, and the Beatz N Piecez Crew Tommy developed the passion to proceed with B-boying and the Hip Hop lifestyle.

Currently, Tommy represents the Gorilla Warfare crew from the SF-Bay Area. He moved down to San Diego to attend SDSU and to experience a different shade of the Hip Hop culture. His hopes and ambitions include traveling the world and having an infectious passion for dance and music. He has been fortunate enough to travel to his homeland of Myanmar(Burma) to perform and teach the youth. He is a firm believer in the saying, "It's not where you're from, but where you're going".
